I'm on the road to recovery. A few days ago, I underwent a gruesome surgical procedure known as a Leforte I osteotomy. For those who know Latin, osteotomy's root parts translate into "bone" and "cut". Leforte was a man who, at the turn of the last century, made a name for himself by smashing cadavers' skulls and studying the pieces. Given this information, most people can develop an accurate picture of the procedure. I'm healing nicely, although I bore and uncomfortable resemblance to Jimminy Glick for a period of time.

I read a random blog that stated people in Sonoma county were reporting a "terrorist incident" on November 6th. The reason? The Northern Lights made an unexpected appearance in the sky. These are the types of stories that restore my faith in mankind.
It's always disturbing to me when people you are interacting with ignore you. Today I gave blood for some upcoming surgery and the phlebotomist said nothing to me except "sit here." However, she had an entire conversation with another person while drawing blood from my arm. This behavior is annoying enough with cashiers (although some customers also have a cell phone impregnated to their heads) but I think invasive procedures require some level of decorum.

While learning the rules and etiquette of blogs, I realized that most people are curious about what the author looks like. All of these photos are either boring or horrific. For my photo, I chose horrific.
Despite having worked in software for ten years now (for networking companies none the less), I discovered the word "blog" only a few weeks ago. Now, in the spirit of my favorite blogs, Something Awful and Jamie Zawinski, uslennar is here.
